The project concerns a “courtyard house” located in the historic center of the “Vho” of Piadena, a typical rural building of the area. The project idea involves keeping the structure of the building intact, without modifying the openings on the facade overlooking Via Garibaldi and modernizing the façade towards the courtyard, through the insertion of a fully glazed veranda, plaster with a patchwork motif and black iron windows. The courtyard, now made of gravel and concrete, is paved with gray split stone, leaving a green flowerbed with flowers and trees in the center. The interior of the house is instead modified according to the needs of the clients, a young couple of artists who need, in addition to the typical living spaces, some rooms in which to express their creativity. In fact, on the ground floor, in addition to the open space living area, the guest bathroom and the laundry room, we find a small “music room” that is totally acoustically isolated. On the first floor, in addition to the master bedroom with walk-in closet, the bathroom with sauna and the guest bedroom, there is a small painting workshop.
